The 2019 Nobel Peace Prize winner, Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (P.h.D) demands a permanent seat for Africans at United Nations Security Council. It is quite known that almost all continents have at least one representing country within the Security Council, but not Africa. This question was raised for decades by African leaders. Former President of Zimbabwe, Robert Mugabe was one of these leaders.

Today, Ethiopian dynamic leader PM Abiy Ahmed has said that African issues should not be discussed and resolved at the UN Security Council without the presence of Africans themselves. Therefore, having a seat at the Global body is so crucial. The Nobel Peace Prize winner express his decision in his tweet today to join other African leaders on this idea of Africa's representation within the Security Council at the permanent level. According to the PM statement, a continent of around 1.3 billion people needs a permanent voice and seat at the UN Security Council.
